What Walmart's Supplier Quality Excellence Program Means for Suppliers
To improve end-to-end quality and lower transportation and supply chain handling costs, Walmart established the Supplier Quality Excellence Program (SQEP). Suppliers are expected to maintain a high degree of accuracy across packaging, load quality, and purchase order details.
Phase 1
Walmart's Supplier Quality Excellence Program.
Phase 2
Improved Walmart's ability to scan barcode labels on cases received through its network.
Phase 3
Introduced packaging, pallet, and load quality guidelines to reduce breakage and logistics disruption. Suppliers must meet these standards to participate.
Phase 4
Will focus on scheduling and transportation requirements and has not yet been released by Walmart.
Understanding Walmart OTIF Compliance
Walmart uses compliance ratings to evaluate supplier shipping performance. Suppliers are expected to deliver OTIF orders in at least 95% of cases.
Suppliers must consistently meet Walmart's standards or risk poor ratings and non-compliance penalties, including fines for early, incomplete, or late orders.
