Oman's ports drive economic growth and global trade connectivity.

Oman's "All Other Ports" include Sultan Qaboos, Shinas, and several smaller regional ports located along the northern and eastern coasts. While not as large as Salalah, Sohar, or Duqm, these ports play a vital role in supporting domestic trade, fisheries, and regional connectivity. Collectively, they contribute to Oman's position as a strategic logistics hub at the crossroads of Asia, Africa, and Europe. Their annual TEU capacity is significantly lower than the major ports, with most handling less than 100,000 TEUs per year, but they are essential for local economic activity and coastal shipping.
All Other Oman Ports feature multipurpose terminals for general cargo, bulk, and containers, supported by modern logistics centers. Key facilities include deep-water berths, container yards, and bulk cargo terminals. Equipment includes mobile harbor cranes, reach stackers, and forklifts; Sohar and Salalah deploy remote-controlled cranes and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for efficient container handling. These ports also offer integrated IT systems for cargo tracking and management, supporting Oman’s role as a regional logistics hub.
Oman's major container terminals include Salalah, Sohar, and Duqm. The Port of Salalah has a capacity of 6.5 million TEUs after a recent expansion and is operated by APM Terminals. Sohar Port features multiple terminals with a significant container capacity, operated by Hutchison Ports. Duqm's new terminal can handle 26,000 TEUs and is equipped with advanced cranes. These ports are increasingly automated and strategically located for global trade.

All Other Oman Ports, including smaller coastal ports like Saham, Al-Khaburah, Al Suwaiq, Al-Musna’ah, Barka, and Seeb, serve as regional connectors between major Omani ports and the interior. These ports facilitate trade with the Gulf, India, East Africa, and the wider Indian Ocean, supporting feeder and coastal shipping routes that link to Muscat, Sohar, and international markets in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
