The new Zagreb Deep Sea Container Terminal, operated by Rijeka Gateway, is a state-of-the-art facility with a 400-meter quay, advanced cranes, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs), supporting an initial annual capacity of 650,000 TEU. The port also offers extensive rail and road connections, modernized cargo handling equipment, and over 150 hectares of operational area, positioning it as a key multimodal hub for Central and Southeast Europe.

Container Terminals

Fiume (Rijeka), Croatia’s main container terminals include the Rijeka Gateway and the older Jadranska Vrata terminal. Rijeka Gateway features a 400-meter berth (expanding to 680 meters), with an initial annual capacity of 650,000 TEU, scalable to over 1 million TEU. The terminal is highly automated, with electrified and remotely operated equipment. Major operators are Rijeka Gateway d.o.o. (APM Terminals and ENNA Group) and Jadranska vrata d.d.
