Tanger Med, Morocco’s main port complex, features four container terminals with a combined capacity of 9 million TEUs, a general cargo terminal, a hydrocarbon terminal, and a dedicated vehicle terminal. Key equipment includes high-capacity ship-to-shore cranes, automated stacking cranes, and advanced terminal operating systems. The port also utilizes automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for container movement, supporting efficient, high-volume cargo handling and transshipment operations.

The port offers over 4 km of deep-water berths (drafts up to 18 meters) and is highly automated, utilizing digital berth planning, auto mooring systems, and advanced simulation tools. Major operators include APM Terminals (MedPort Tangier), Eurogate, and Marsa Maroc. APM Terminals’ MedPort Tangier alone now handles 5.2 million TEUs annually after recent expansion.
