    Overview

The Biloxi Port Division, located in Biloxi, Mississippi along the Gulf Coast, plays a pivotal role in supporting the city’s robust maritime economy—primarily driven by the seafood industry and recreational boating. Unlike major container ports, Biloxi’s harbors and docks are utilized almost exclusively by the local commercial shrimp and oyster fishing fleet as well as by recreational boaters. The port division oversees two commercial docks and two recreational marinas, as well as piers, boat ramps, and a fishing bridge, enabling both economic activity and public access to the water. The division also manages four harbors with nearly 500 slips, seven boat ramps, seven piers, and a popular fishing bridge on Back Bay. Notably, the Biloxi Port Division is self-sustaining, relying solely on slip rental and lease income with no funding from the city. Its facilities provide critical infrastructure for fresh seafood sales directly to the public and for tourism associated with water-based recreation, making it a cornerstone of coastal life in Biloxi.
