    Overview

The Port of Port Arthur Navigation District, located in southeastern Texas on the western shore of Sabine Lake, is a critical deepwater gateway to global trade on the Gulf Coast. Situated just 9 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, the port has direct access to the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and is a central part of the Beaumont–Port Arthur–Orange “Golden Triangle,” a significant petrochemical and industrial complex. The port's strategic location, close to the nation’s largest refinery and extensive rail and highway connections, underpins its role as a hub for exporting petroleum, chemicals, and a range of diverse cargos. Over its long history, the port has played a key role in supporting the U.S. energy sector and facilitating international commerce. Today, its modern infrastructure, ample channel depth, and breakbulk expertise continue to make it significant for shippers operating along the Gulf Coast, particularly those requiring reliable access for large industrial and project cargoes.
