Port of Port Lavaca - Point Comfort

The Port of Port Lavaca – Point Comfort is a significant seaport located along the shores of Matagorda Bay in Texas, managed by the Calhoun Port Authority. It serves as a crucial hub for the Texas mid-coast region, supporting both regional industry and international trade through its proximity to major waterways and rail connections. The port features terminals at both Port Lavaca and Point Comfort, connected to the Gulf of Mexico via the Matagorda Ship Channel, and also provides rail access through the Union Pacific Railroad via the Point Comfort and Northern Railway. The main commodities handled at this port include chemicals, petrochemicals, crude oil, agricultural fertilizers, and a variety of high-value chemicals for export. Facilities are also capable of managing break bulk cargo, heavy equipment, and diverse dry bulk materials, making it suitable for a wide range of cargo types.
